Yoga is infinitely beautiful and strengthening on all levels. When practiced properly, its inherent transformative powers may transform a pauper into a king and a fool into a sage of great wisdom. It all depends on what we choose to see, venerate and give prominence in our own mind.

My views are quite limited, I’m full of ignorance and flaws, yet still I have infinite faith in the many benefits that come from a consistent practice of yoga. Without it my life would certainly have been very different, hence I’m eternally grateful for what yoga has to offer. However yoga can equally delude us, make us self-centered, arrogant and full of our own folly. These blogs to follow will be a mixture of both. Some unprocessed woolly folly of my own mind and hopefully the occasional ray of yoga that will shine through.

The world of yoga today is a fascinating place with new self-proclaimed gurus that baffle us with new teachings and ideas every year. I am most definitely not a Guru, just a simple student that also happen to make a living as a yoga teacher because I suck at everything else I do. But I’m truly grateful for the great teachings of yoga that have been preserved for millenniums through the Indian tradition. I’m particularly grateful to Sri K. Pattabhi Jois for helping my experience what is real in comparison with all the fleeting sensations of the mind. I’m equally grateful to all my Sanskrit teachers whose patience and support provided my mind with a firm support. Most of all I’m grateful to upholders of Dharma.  Mother, father, teacher, student, whoever you may be – but all those that try to take support in what is good, wholesome and uplifting. May that support us from all sides and guide our understanding. Then yoga is really easy!
