A little update from Hong Kong.

The weekly blog is taking the back burner this week since I’m back in Hong Kong and spend most of the day socializing with old friends and catching up on the latest news. Also here for the annual Asia Yoga Conference which is the biggest commercial yoga conference in the world.  Naturally it has its good sides and bad sides, but for all the spiritual shoppers and those in search of the latest yoga clothes in the bazaar it is a true haven. It is quite a funky variety of people and products on display. Something for every liking and considering the organizers attract more than 1500 hundred people for the daily classes they must be doing something right. At least from the commercial point of view! Having enjoyed the fresh air back in the Motherland of Norway my priorities has certainly changed a bit and there is no way I could spend as many months here as I used to do. This city is non-stop yet despite all the pollution, the humidity in the air, the constant noise and intensities all around, it also has a charm and a buzz that leaves you dazzled.

Yoga in this city is as crazy as ever with new yoga centers opening and closing like swinging doors. The big ones like Pure, with over 30,000 members are still the most influential and have the lion share of the market so let’s hope they stay true to their core principles and are able to serve their growing community rather than the various ambitions of their investors. Some things may never change in the commercial capital of Asia, but yoga keeps growing and there is something for every need and fancy. Greater clarity is secondary, that is something money cannot buy, it unfolds from within, and it’s a source of real fortune for the one that finds it.
